Bulk Update & Export Tool for CRM Online

Any suggestions/existing examples of using this with an instance of CRM Online? The instructions indicate it should be installed on the server. Are there other options?

Hi,

The tool works great with CRM online. I had the change to test this with a fellow codeplexer...

if i remember correctly the screen should look like :

server > http://yourcompany.crm.dynamics.com (this might be without the http >> cant remember how we did it :-s )

username and password > your windows live id with which you login to crm.

domain > leave empty

instance > your crm instance name

authentication type > passport

Where do the instructions indicate that anything has to be done on the server ??? I'll need to correct that.

Hope this helped.

Wim,

The instructions for installing this tool I rec'd from MS Support were as follows:

1. Extract the zip file.

2. install the microsoft.*.dll Files from the Assemblies folder (and sub folders) in the Global Assembly Cache (located at : %windir%\assembly) copy the msidcrl40.dll to the %windir%\system32 folder.

3. Run OrbitOne.CRMUpdater.Exe.

Not sure how to do this for CRM Online?

Thanks!

I would have to say the documentation is a little lacking for the CRM Online portion so I will go ahead and update instructions with what I have found to work:

1. You will need to either add the Dll files found in DRIVE\OrbitOneCRMUpdater\assemblies\live to the GAC (located at : %windir%\assembly) or have the CRM Online Outlook client installed.

2. Copy the msidcrl40.dll to the %windir%\system32 folder.

3. Enter the following details for login:

Server: https://dev.crm.dynamics.com/MSCRMServices

Username: WLID

Password: WLID Password

Domain: BLANK

Authentication Type: Passport

Instance: ORGANIZATION UNIQUE NAME.  You will find this by logging into CRM and going to Settings > Customizations > Download Web Service Description Files.

After doing this, it does work properly.

I followed all these steps and I can download records from the CRM Online into the application and edit it.

But, when I try to upload the edited records back into the CRM the application doesn't do anything. Am I missing something here?

We have MS CRM Dynamics Online hosted by Microsoft and there no access to the Database.

Please let me know if there is way to bulk update the records.

Thanks,

Bhaskar
